We are one of London’s fastest growing boroughs and our child population is predicted to be one of the largest in London by 2020. Our challenge in Family Services is meet this growth and provide outstanding services to young people and their families.

Our Place

Background

The London Borough of Barnet is a suburban borough in North London, forming part of Outer London. It is the second largest London borough by population with 366,400 inhabitants and covers an area of 86.74 square kilometres (33 sq. mi). It is a large, diverse place, made up of suburban communities as well as 20 town centres.

Barnet residents enjoy better than average health and higher life expectancy. However, this experience is not universal across the borough and there is a seven year difference in life expectancy between the most deprived and most affluent areas.

Barnet’s current child population stands at 94,940, our children account for one quarter of the boroughs overall population.

Our space

Our main office is a state of the art open-plan building complex set within 16.1 hectares of landscaped grounds.

Located in the heart of North London, the offices are within commutable distance from a variety of places within and outside of London.
